*phew* just got back from bandar with the  whole family..maaan, of course Kiulap and Gadong was packed..obviously because pay day is coming up ISUK and, if I’m not mistaken, some got theirs a day early.. so you get the picture.. pay day + brunei + RAYA LAGI = berabis-rabis~ that’s Brunei for u buddy..anyhoots~ went to the Mall for a bit just to see the crowd, cuci mata, minum2.. u knw the usual… I tell you, it was packed…kan betamu batang idung ja nda… I wonder what it’ll look like tomorrow..betamu gigi kali….I’ll just leave it here for tonight.. Ok, I’m not even gonna lie to you and say that this is not one of those videos that doesn’t give you a heartattack. cha yIbaH qara’DI’

Had a good nights rest last night as I actually slept this time around rather than my usual ’staying up until sahur’. Is it just me, or don’t you just hate it when you get woken up at 4am for sahur and you’re pretty much half  unconscious. For me, I’m usually in my deep sleep, then a knock…and at times a bang on the door comes next, courtesy of my beloved mum. I then start moving on to the kitchen like a zombie, sit…look at the food and start munching. And it’s just so frustrating when I actually know the food is suppose to taste good but then you just can’t help but lose your taste buds…take for example, we had prawns/shrimp/udang for sahur a few nights/mornings ago… and trust me when I say that I am the king of all udang eaters, yet it felt like I was chewing on rubber… u knw, that sorta feeling….and that’s the main reason why I prefer staying up and actually have a smile on my face while I eat at 4 in the morning~ may seem a bit freaky and disturbing if u picture it.. but hey~ i love food… heee …oh hey, thanx to c Phyz (for her sarcastic “aku inda femees” statement), c Dud and Maurina for their comments…and for the rest of you~ just a reminder again, don’t hesitate to leave any comments on any of the topics…or even suggestions..ckp kusung pun okeh~ i don’t bite…the worse i can do is probably delete your comments…can i do that tho? i still need to check if there’s actually a feature which let’s me do that~ hahaha.. oh well

Do you speak Klingon?

If you’re wondering what my main heading on top says… it’s actually Klingon-ese which translates to ‘fire the torpedoes!’..haha~ (just for those who don’t know, Klingons are a warrior race of humanoids in the fictional STAR TREK universe.) Ok, this is how I came up with the topic. I woke up this morning..and while still palau, called up Tasek Brasserie at Sheraton to cancel a reservation..then being my random self, i thought..wouldn’t it be cool, in a nerdy kinda way, if I could speak Klingon…and as they say, the rest is history. Now, i’m gonna show off a bit… here it goes… ‘IqnaH! tlhIngan Hol Dajatlh’a’. Hab SoSlI’ Quch! buy’ ngop.. sounds cool doesn’t it…..but here’s what I really said…..Mucus! Do you speak Klingon? Your mother has a smooth forehead (note: this is a major insult! haha) That’s great news.

There is actually an entire language to learn if you like, but this will see you through most of those Klingon language emergencies.

Here’s How:

1. First, spend a few minutes thumping your chest and snarling. This language is mostly about attitude.
2. Say “Ha! Ha! Ha!” as loudly as you can to get used to forcing sounds up from your diaphragm.
3. The most important word to know is “Qapla’” (pronounced “kap-LA!”), which is a way of wishing people “Success!” Imagine five scenarios where you might say this. Practice grunting it out, putting heavy emphasis on the second syllable.
4. The second most important word to know is “putaQ” (pronounced “poo-tak”), which is a nicely general insult.
5. There, now you have a sentence, “Qapla’ putaQ!” (I wish you success, you jerk!)
6. Go up to someone you don’t like, thump your chest, snarl, and grunt very loudly, “Qapla’ putaQ!”
7. Run.
    

Tips: All words sound better with some of that long Klingon hair to fling around as you speak.

Knight ‘Rider’….

Ok, this is just plain amusing. David ’The Hoff’ Hasselhoff has shocked students during an appearance at Trinity College in Dublin when he made a comment that his talking Knight Rider car, KITT was gay. He continued by saying, “We have some fairly X-rated outtakes on ‘Knight Rider’….KITT was constantly asking, ‘Do you want me to take you home Michael?’ in that very camp voice of his..” Come to think of it… he does have a point~! hahaha! Speaking of Knight Rider, a new movie is in the works.. surprise, surprise…another remake from hollywood.. But with the gay comments, I won’t be surprised if they’re having second thoughts in bringing back the franchise…thanx to the HOFF! U RUINED MY CHILDHOOD DREAM OF OWNING A TALKING CAR! NOW IT’S JUST NOT COOL ANYMORE!

What a way to start the day… didn’t have enough sleep, had to wake up early and went aaalll the way to the Ministry of Communications. There were more girls than guys that applied for the position. Not that I’m complaining or anything…hehe. We simply had to answer two questions in an hour. It wasn’t that bad I suppose, all i know is that I turned on my “IT’S BULLSHITTING TIME!” mode throughout writing the essay. I won’t even bother hoping. If I’m meant to work there, then insyAllah I’ll get it. So what’s done is done…moving ooonn~ So it’s Thursday..isuk cutii~ not like it matters as everyday is the same for me anways.. Oh, Raya’s coming as well, and I’m a bit excited….ok fine, I’m very excited! It’s gonna be my 1st raya in 4 years and OUR first raya in 4 years as a COMPLETE family..the whole gang is back this time.. so it’s all goood. But something is missing… Oh well..things happen for a reason i suppose…*sigh*..

N95

Not really a ”new phone every week” type of guy, but here it is. Nokia’s latest N-series, N95. Nokia calls it a  ’multimedia computer’, probably just to make it sound cooler. The N95 is expected to start shipping in the 1st quater of 2007, costing around 500 Euros. It has a 5 (yes FIVE!) megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, a large 2.6-inch QVGA 16 million color display and a two-way slider which pops out a numeric keypad on one side and media control keys on the other end. In addition, the N95 is designed for High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) networks and supports WLAN, EDGE and WCDMA networks It’s not that far ahead, so better start saving up guys.

John Legend: Once Again

John Legend is back for the 2nd round with his new album ‘Once Again’. It’s an improvement from ‘Get Lifted’, which had a more Soul/Hip-Hop edge, while this album is heading towards that ‘Feel good, Doo-Wop Motown’ feel. Just the way I like it. The highlights of this album worth listening to include ‘Save Room’( the 1st single), ‘P.D.A (We Just Don’t Care)’, ‘Where Did My Baby Go’ and ‘Again’. Other than Kanye West, other prodcuers for this album include Wil.I.Am, Raphael Saadiq, Sa-Ra and others. Download it, buy the original or the ‘komunis’ version..it’s really up to you. But it’s worth a listen.

This just got in. “The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) yesterday announced that  beginning November this year it would be accepting bid proposals from foreign and local companies interested in projects to turn the Brunei International Airport into a regional air hub…….The Airport National Development Plan Projects envision to upgrade the existing airport. Scheduled for completion by 2031, the projects are intended to turn the airport into a hub for the BIMP-EAGA region (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines – East Asean Growth Area).” Full article

Sounds like a great project to me. Just by skimming through the the article, consultancy services, communications, navigation, surveillance, air traffic management are the major project categories for the development. Moroever, the passenger terminal is aimed to be enhanced into a state of the art facility for the comfort of passengers. It’s about time the international airport gets a major facelift. But with its completion targetted at 2031, I’de probably be in the stage of my life where I really don’t give a rat’s rectum about it, other than counting the days for my retirement..haha..only time will tell.

Ramblings

man.. I gotta start waking up before noon. This is bad. Been waking up at 1pm and sleeping at 5am since puasa ani. I mean, I love sleeping in and all but as the old saying goes, “siapa bangun akhir inda rezeki datang”.. well, at least i think it goes something like that. So basically, I gotta start waking up early.. i doubt it’ll happen anytime soon though. Speaking of waking up early, I got an early ‘interview’ tomorrow morning at the Min of Comm..it’s probably gonna take an hour or so (I hope). Seems like my brother is dropping me off at the place and my dad picking me up afterwards. You guys reading this are probably going… “macam inda belesen saja” (*cough* Marha’s reaction)…well, just to keep my pride from going down the drain, here’s the problem…I haven’t been in Brunei long enough to know directions.. yes, I’m that bad..haha..the only place I know is probably Gadong..and maybe Kiulap..sad, but true…so please cut me some slack.. hahaha. Man, I gotta at least read something for tomorrow..

As a self-proclaimed sneaker freak..(at least back in the days when I could afford them..) it would be very wrong not to post this. Here, I give you..the Air Jordan Spiz’ike. Just a brief background, the shoe itself is a hybrid of AJ3, AJ4, AJ5, AJ6, and AJ20. Probably designed by Spike Lee, just by looking at the logo. Proceeds from the sales will help donate a new film institute at Morehouse College. It’s coming out this Saturday, at least in the States. The good news is, it is said to be available worldwide as well. The bad news, only 4032 pairs are available (yes..worldwide). If it does make it to Asia, your chances of getting one nearby would be Singapore..but hey, with only 4032 pairs available (again..WORLDWIDE!) ..well you get the picture.

Red as an Apple

Here it is boys and girls. Presenting Apple’s new 4GB Ipod Nano suitably named “(Product) RED”. Seeing this just frustrates me more on the fact that I’m broke. I mean, look at it! Faaaacccckk~! It is being released to help the battle against AIDS by donating $10 (it’s sold for $199) for every Nano sold to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. It’s probably limited to the States. Even if it isn’t, there’s a slim chance it’ll be available here in Brunei. BUT kalau ada, sesiapun…

The Dark Knight

Another movie update. First there was Batman Begins, now comes the sequel.. THE DARK KNIGHT.. frankly speaking, if u thought Batman Begins sucked.. ur not in ur ryt mind buddy..haha. Anyways, where was I?… yes the sequel. Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman are returning..thank goodness. Don’t you just hate it when a sequel comes out and a different actor takes over (e.g: GEORGE CLOONEY and the Batman Nipple suit! sheesh.. whyyyyy!). Ok, I’m drifting away.. YES the DARK KNIGHT… if you’re wondering who the villain is… it’s the Joker (not really a big surprise to those who has seen the movie). But here’s the cool part….the Joker will be played by…… *drum roll*…………… Heathe Ledger! It’s actually a good choice come to think of it… different from Jack Nicholson (Joker from the Tim Burton Batman movie just so u knw)…yet a good choice. But don’t expect the usual Joker look with the heavy make up, green hair and purple suit. This one is gonna be darker and more sinister. According to a reliable source, it’s gonna have that “Orange Clockwork” vibe.. so expect some disturbing shit from the Joker. Let’s just go on now shall we… other than the jester himself… Harvey Dent (Two Face) will make an appearance..probably before he got the whole two-face look going on..they’re gonna save that for the 3rd movie. So that’s pretty much it basically. I’ll keep u updated.

“Transformers..robots in disguise”

I’m pretty sure everyone is familiar with the Transformers that kicked ass back in the 80s. In case you didn’t know, they’re back in the form of a live-action movie next year. The filmng just wrapped and probably in the editing stage. I guarantee it’s gonna be one of, if not, THE biggest movie of next year. To add to the anticipation, it’s directed by Michael Bay who has brought blockbuster movies over the years (Bad Boys I & II, Armageddon, The Rock etc) with great visuals. And it’s being produced by the one and only, Steven Spielberg. So you get the idea, a big ass movie with giant fu**ing robots. Here’s the Teaser trailer
