woke up at 9+ today… went straight to the workshop to get my car breaks replaced…and now, here i am… *yawn*
Iphone + mini OS X?
With Macworld being less than two months away, there’s increasing speculation about the existence of the iPhone.. first there was this, now LoopRumors has given us some bits, reporting that the music-playing part will be created by PortalPlayer, the same people behind the original Ipod’s innards. Moreover, they believe that the Iphone will use a clever cut-dwon version of Apple’s next gen operating system, the OS X Leopard. If these reports are true, expect an ultimate smartphone from Apple complete with Ipod magic, portable widgets, iChats and Itunes…well, we’ll just hafta wait and see…
Suit Up… in 2008
Another movie coming in 2008 adapted from Marvel Comics is Iron Man. Directed by Jon Favreau (Elf, Zathura), it is based on Marvel’s iconic superhero whcih tells the story of Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is kidnapped and forced to build a devastating weapon. Instead, using his intelligence and ingenuity, Tony builds ahigh-tech suit of armor and escapes captivity. Upon his return to the States, he must come to terms with his past. When he uncovers a nefarious plot with global implications, he dons his powerful armor and vows to protect the world as Iron Man.
So who’s the lucky guy who gets to become Tony Stark…. *drum roll* …. Robert Downey Jr…. I’de say that it is a very good choice. As an actual person who has gone through shit (several arrests, drug addiction etc) and managed to climb back up.. Robert should have no problem relating himself and getting into the role of Tony Stark. Visually, he may not be the best looking guy to play Tony Stark but he’s an excellent actor (check out Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, A Scanner’s Darkly and Chaplin)… another actor that has been confirmed is Terrence Howard who will play Tony’s pal, Jim “Rodhey” Rhodes aka War Machine… and the baddy.. well, if you’re an Iron Man fan..it’s obvious who it is… Mandarin (the only Asian dude who I know has the most bling in his fingers)…
With Jon Farveau in the director seat.. I can already imagine where this movie may be heading to.. based on his past movies.. I think that it will have an all American comic-y and retro feel to it which stays true to the original Iron man comics.. so it should be good
