Aku Lapar!

…seriously man, it’s one of those late nights where I’m so hungry~ and Sel’s making it worse coz as I’m typing this, she’s telling me (probably on purpose) that she’s cooking ayam and sayur ‘cara complong’ at this time of the night…hahaha… but now here I am, munching on rice and bits and pieces of fish coz I just can’t get myself to cook something at 1 in the morning~ ok that’s it.. I’m gonna buy a whole lotta cup noodles karang for my late night munching sessionS…see how i emphasize on the ‘S’…hahahaha~ on a sad note.. one of my cats died today…..so I woke up at 7am to help dig his resting place… despite pissing in the house occassionally, he was part of the household and will truly be missed… rest in peace buddy…

 As ‘big’ as the Da Vinci Code was.. I honestly never read it.. i mean, i bought the book as a b’day gift for my lil bro when it 1st came out and that was pretty much it…but there’s just something about a Stephen King book that just pulls me in…his latest offering, Lisey’s Story is a departure from his usual horror-themed novels…but nonetheless is said to be character oriented, with twist and turns which King is also known for..Now, I haven’t read the book yet, but the reviews have been positive so I’m planning on getting it if duit mengizinkan..nevertheless… I still can’t decide which to get.. his last gore/zombie-galore book, The Cell which is more my cup of tea, or the different Lisey’s Story…hmm choices choices

 After the hype died down a bit, I brought my lil bro along to the mall cinema to finally catch the new Bond film… but I’ll get back to that in a bit..went to catch the 6:40pm show but I got there pretty early…2hrs earlier to be precise…’elek-elek for a bit, read the paper etc..posh246@tiqz  joined us while she was waiting for her movie to start….bought my weekly dvd…and more waiting after that..2hrs was a longer wait than expected……inda pa-pa..it was better than ‘menalur’ di rumah…

The Bond That Got Away (Review)

To be honest, I was never a big fan of James Bond….but now I can honestly say that I have been converted….if you were expecting an over the top ’Pierce Brosnan’  type of Bond with its over-exaggerated gadgets…then you’ll definately be disappointed…Instead, Casino Royale, based on a novel by Ian Fleming is a prequel to the James Bond franchise…it tells the story of how Bond got his double ‘O’ status, how he got to become M’s least favourite asshole agent to her most trusted agent….and of course, there is the infamous and beautiful Vesper Lynd.. THE FIRST Bond girl and the only woman he EVER loved…if you are familiar with the Bond saga, then you should also know that she is the reason why Bond becomes a playaaaa~~ (YOU DA MAN!)…..as mentioned before, do not expect any sequences with James Bond flying through the air using a jetpack on his back..but what makes this movie better than the recent Bond films is its element of real-ness…and it is a story heavy movie..With its gritty and dark mood throughout the movie, you will witness how the cold-blooded assasin/bad ass Bond evolves into the cool and suave James Bond we all seem to be familiar with… So how good was it to me? Well, let’s just say I already had goosebumps when the stylised opening credits started rolling (accompanied by Chris Cornell’s gritty theme song “You Know My Name”). I would put Casino Royale in the same ranks as From Russia With Love (1963 Bond film).. as for Daniel Craig as Bond.. unlike many who doubted him, I always knew he wasn’t going to disappoint..his perfromance was top-notch and I’de definately put him up there with Sean Connery in the Bond list..he may be blonde but HE IS James Bond…

*Bond 22 is currently in pre-production and is expected to be released in November 7, 2008 (TBC) with Daniel Craig reprising the role of the legendary British secret agent…YAAAYYY!!

 *yawn* greetings fellow readers… so it’s officially exam week for the UBD students huh? this is my chance to rub it in….. it’s gonna be a looong 2-3 weeks~~….hahaha.. despite being bored with nothing to do, I suddenly remember why I couldn’t stop looking forward to graduating~…..hahaha.. but it’s ok, believe me when I say this…enjoy every minute of your student life coz it’s probably one of the highlights of your life… anyways, all the best to friends and family who will be undergoing exams…. The Fountain

who is she?

 ok ok…since I last blogged, things didn’t really go exactly as planned… instead of going for my movie marathon I just couldn’t stop myslef from taking my afternoon nap yesterday… hahaha… c’mon, I had to wake up at 6 in the morning for my ‘ujian bertulis’..so making up for loss sleeping hours was a must for me…hahaha…. maan, about 200+ turned up for the ’special duties officer’ position…saw a few familiar faces as well as ones that caught my eye~ hey, at least it woke me up~ hehe.. it was a 2hr+ exam…had to answer 3 questions… it wasn’t that bad.. but as always, I didn’t make a big deal out of it… all I know is that i tried my best and if it’s meant to be, then it’s meant to be…i got another ‘ujian’ on the 6th… weee~! “can’t wait”…… couldn’t really enjoy my malam muda-mudi last night since I had to stop by at my aunt’s for dinner d j’dong… but it’s all good..jgn nulak rezeki~ so kalau nada apa2 jalan ku karang insyAllah…

Nokia N97……….or so we think

This device has been popping out in tech-related sites since yesterday and it is rumored to be Nokia’s latest N-series phone… the N97. According to the rumor mill, the handset is equipped with a 3 inch display and will in all probability have a 5 Megapixel camera with 20x digital zoom. But since now news is available on this device, we can’t be too sure if it’s even a real phone or a result of someone’s photoshop skill…only time will tell.. Nevertheless, from the looks of it, the phone looks suhweeeeet! (sweet as in cool.. not the ‘aawwww..that’s so sweeeett’ type of ’sweet’.. hahaha)

I’m really feelin’ this joint at the moment…it’s the best cinta-monyet song I’ve heard in years..his voice reminds me of the golden days of lil Michael Jackson before he was known as ‘wacko jacko’..

more than just a thang

 I’ve been TRYING to go out today…but there’s just something that hindered me from going~ or maybe I just couldn’t get my lazy ass self to leave the house and just drive off.. haha..hmm.. 28Pornstar & Co. came over to my place today all the way from bandar… had a few drinks…chatted… was planning on catching a movie tonight but unfortunately, it was raining.. so I couldn’t bother myself by having to drive all the way to gadong from tutong maaan..~ so I’m planning on making this up by treating myself to a movie marathon this weekend insyAllah… probably on saturday…. but oh darn, that reminds me.. I have a test that morning for a job position..hmm.. maybe I’ll go at noon~ at least it’ll prevent me from taking my afternoon naps…..speaking of naps, i gotta change my sleeping/waking hours… and i think i gotta shave coz i’m starting to look like a neanderthal posing like a japanese tourist giving the peace sign as shown above…

  If you’ve followed the Ali G show, I’m sure you know who Borat is….and that his movie, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan is making big bucks in the States… as a matter of fact, I just finished watching it a while ago and I would have to say that Sacha Baron Cohen is a genius! The movie was extremely hilarious as expected. As offensive and degrading as the movie was, (“Is not a problem that woman have smaller brain than man?”, ”Quick children, smash the Jew egg!” and many more..hahaha) it showcased how some ‘people’ can be preoccupied in their own, so called perfect world…for instance, a person in his/her right mind would know that Kazakhistan is not a ‘primitive’ country as Borat has ‘promoted’… so while his ‘victims’ in the movie probably thought they were dealing with some stupid dude from an underprivileged country, little did they know, the joke was really on them.. Sacha sure did succeed in showing how arrogant and ignorant ’people’ can be……… “US and A number 1!” uuhh… i don’t think so

So what’s next for Sacha Baron Cohen? well, other than several movie role offers, he’ll be back causing more mayhem as Bruno, the gay Austrian tv personality…more on that soon……… maybe…hehehe

if you’ve been a loyal reader, u should know that i love my gadgets and toys.. so surprise surprise.. another entry on… yes, u guessed it..iPod related news!! Rumors of Apple bringing a cellphone to the market are about as old as ur grandma’s grandma…ok i shudnt have said that.. tulah, tulah (this fear is known as the ’siTanggang-o-phobia’)… pokoknya it’s been circulating around for quite some time now… So what’s the latest word on this? Well, it is COMING next year…well, at least that’s the story if you believe a Chinese-language news paper, the Commercial Times… according to the paper, Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd has secured contracts from Apple Computer for 12 million mobile handsets that also function as music players whcih will be launched in the first half of next year.. this provides more evidence that the iPhone will likely be revealed during MacWorld in January….

I know I haven’t been posting anything that’s specifically for girls since I started this blog… coz I just can’t seem to know what is considered as ‘purty’ for u….i might post something that looks good from a guy’s perspective while u may go ‘eeeww.. that is so yesterday’… hahaha.. so apologies ladies… but I’m gonna take my chance on this one.. Inspired by the traditional style of the Japanese Geisha, these are the Puma Yutori Kimono made from real kimono dress fabrics. In addition, what makes these shoes unique other than the fact that these one of a kind materials carry an abundance of high quality and detail is the way the shoes were designed using very elegant folds to represent how a Kimono is worn by Geisha’s. so cana? how did i do? lawa? ok now i’m wondering if i even have a lot of female readers~ any hott laydes out there? hahaha..don’t mind me…this is known as the ‘being-single-for-too-long syndrome’… c Dud is familiar with my disorder… hahahaha

PS3 not “compatible” after all.. bwoh dooi~

 Not surprisingly, PS3 was a hit not only in Brunei, but worldwide… I think it was written in the local papers a few days ago saying that it costs around B$1,800… sori lah tu eh.. at the moment inda ku mampu che…The PS3 was supposed to be “backwards compatible”, meaning it should run games written for PlayStation and PlayStation 2….there’s a BUT though… help lines over at Sony are on fire with calls coming from PS3 owners complaining that the PS3 isn’t so compatible with many PS1 and PS2 titles. Apparently, some older titles don’t work at all, while some work without sounds…Japanese newspaper Sankei has reported that the problems affect about 200 games sold for the original PlayStation and the PlayStation 2. Sony has offered to fix the problem via future Online upgrades for the consoles… but hey, look at the bright side, it could’ve been worse… it could’ve blown up or something…. hardy-har-har~

If you were expecting a post about an upcoming B-movie on killer Ipods..sorry buddy…Instead, Apple Co. has announced that Air France, Continental, Delta, Emirates, KLM and United will offer their passengers iPod seat connections in their airplane mid-2007. The feature will allow passengers to power and charge their Ipods as well as allow the video content on their iPods to be viewed on the their seat back displays….

 It’s 3:36 am… and I can’t seem to get back to sleep since I slept for a couple of hours during the heavy downpour di Tutong earlier….so what better to do than blog! yipeeee!! man I need my social life back.. hahahaha..not much can be said about my daily activity for today as I pretty much stayed home saja.. watched a couple of DVDs, eat, sleep..u know the usual… watched ‘Click’ on DVD today (i know, i know, long overdue.. thank goodness for $3 DVDs) when it first came out, people gave me mix reviews but most were unimpressed since a big chunk of the movie is depressing.. but hey, I really liked it… it had a mix of that Adam Sandler humor and a serious ’Punch Drunk Love’ Adam in it… speaking of movies, I still need to catch ‘The Grudge 2′ maan~ I’m just a sucker for horror flicks…. care to join me? ………………….uuuum……………………..anyone??? hahaha….

I’ll have the Tim Burton-Johnny Depp Combo and a hint of Sacha Baron Cohen please…

Tim Burton is working with Johnny Depp again for the..uuuh..6th time…but hey, nothing to complain about coz these two create magic together.. he’s currently working on the legend of Sweeney Todd , based on the hit broadway musical.. and yes, Depp will play the title character…and it’s going to be a musical so we’ll get the chance to see him sing as well..

The story of Sweeney Todd is of a wrongfully imprisoned barber in Victorian England who sets out to seek revenge on the judge who imprisoned him. The plot is foreshadowed in the first lines of the opening number: “Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd./His skin was pale and his eye was odd./He shaved the faces of gentlemen/Who never thereafter were heard of again.”

So in case you didn’t get that, it’s more or less about a nut case barber who kills his customers by cutting their throat using his straight razor…but of course there’s more to it than that….it’s about betrayal, revenge, love lost…. I’ve read the 2 acts of the original musical.. and based on this, I know it’s going to be a gore-filled movie… YAY!!!! I can already picture the Tim Burton visuals…I think it’s gonna have the same vibe as what he did on Sleepy Hollow a couple of years back…And after weeks of rumors, it is now official, Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat) will play Adolfo Pirelli in the movie! “WA WA WEE WAH! US and A number 1!”

Album Review

Save The Last Dance 2 (OST)

 In case you didn’t know, yes, there is a sequel to Save The Last Dance which was released straight to DVD about a month ago and the soundtrack released recently a week ago. The song writing maestro (the ‘So Sick’ dude that many of you know him as) Ne-Yo Co-Exceutive produced the soundtrack (who also has a cameo in the movie). Along with being responsible for overseeing the entire album, Ne-Yo composed five of eleven tracks, including a ballad with Joe and Ruben Studdard. The overall sound of the soundtrack is pretty much your typical R&B/Hip Hop..nothing new really.. but it’s still listenable. I personally tend to skip the other tracks and put Ne-Yo – Watch You Dance and Joe -It’s On You on repeat..and both are great ‘cruising along the beach’ tunes I might add

*UPDATE: As expected, Sony has now removed the Spiderman 3 trailer which had Venom in it (explains why my spiderman 3 clip doesn’t work anymore, so I removed it). I believe that this is a bad move on their part..besides, the Venom shown was minimal.. so why hold it ’til later.. I mean, it got a way better response from many as compared to the recent official trailer…. they better make up for this on their next full-length trailer coming out..hmm.. next month if I’m not mistaken..
